The Oakland Police Department reported that the victim was in a vehicle traveling near 78th Street when it was hit by the 16-year-old driver of a Nissan that veered into his lane. The victim was killed in the accident. The driver of the Nissan fled the scene after the collision but was later apprehended by authorities. The crash remains under investigation.
