Authorities report that the crosswalk light was not functioning due to a dead battery at the time of the crash. Stephan Thompson, an 18-year-old student at Enterprise High School, suffered a broken leg after being hit by a truck around 2:30 p.m. The malfunctioning light has since been repaired.
