19-Year-Old James O'Reilly Arrested In Gainesville, FL Accident

Pedestrian struck on Southwest 34th Street

Tragic accident that occurred on March 17th in Gainesville, Florida. 19-year-old James O’Reilly was arrested after striking and killing a pedestrian in the 3600 block of Southwest 34th Street. O’Reilly ran off the roadway, striking the victim before fleeing the scene. The pedestrian was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead. O’Reilly was arrested on charges of DUI manslaughter, damage to property, and leaving the scene of a crash. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
