Vehicle collides with Amtrak train

Tragic accident that occurred on Monday March 15th, at around 10:30 p.m. in Fowler, California. 21-year-old Juan Ramirez sadly died when the vehicle that he was a passenger in collided with an Amtrak train on Central Avenue near Maple Avenue just west of Highway 99. Ramirez was a passenger in a car driven by Noe Maravilla that attempted to go around crossing arms and was struck by the southbound traveling passenger train. “Absolutely, this could have totally been unavoidable,” said Fresno Police Officer.
