26-Year-Old Richard Cathey III Killed In Wilmington, NC Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Saturday, May 1 at around 2 AM in Wilmington, North Carolina. 26-year-old Richard Cathey III was tragically struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking west on S. College Rd. at Wilshire Boulevard. He was hit by a black vehicle that fled the scene after the wreck. The victim was rushed to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he sadly later died. The crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Police Department and anyone with information is urged to call the PD at 910-343-3609 or text 847-411 to submit an anonymous tip. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
