30-Year-Old Joseph Edwards Killed In Sparta, NC Accident

Head on collision on N. Carolina Highway 18

Tragic accident that occurred on November 1 in Sparta, North Carolina.  30-year-old Joseph Edwards lost his life when the vehicle he was driving was hit head-on by a pickup truck along North Carolina Highway 18. Sparta was operating a vehicle when a northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck lost control, traveled into oncoming traffic, and struck his vehicle head-on.Edwards, a 7th grade teacher at Central Wilkes Middle School, was sadly pronounced dead at the site of the crash.  Authorities say they will communicate with the district attorney's office to determine if any charges will be filed. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
