32-Year-Old Mark Anthony Alvarez Killed in Edinburg, TX Accident

The crash remains under investigation

A tragic accident occurred on April 14 near Edinburg, TX, killing two individuals. One of them is 32-year-old Mark Anthony Alvarez of Pharr, who died after his Hyundai Tucson was struck by multiple vehicles on US Highway 281. The fatal crash happened around 2:38 a.m. when an alleged drunk driver, heading the wrong way in a Chevrolet Malibu, collided with Alvarez’s southbound vehicle. The impact caused the Hyundai to spin across lanes, where it was hit by a southbound Freightliner truck. One of the other victims in this crash was Alvarez’s 4-year-old son.
