The crash occurred near Lexi Lane when three vehicles were traveling on the highway at the time — a 2008 Crown Victoria, a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, and a 2020 Kia Rio. Authorities did not say which vehicles struck the victim. Upham was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The accident remains under investigation by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
