36-Year-Old Kenya Ball Injured In Yancey, NC Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on December 9 in Yancey, North Carolina. 36-year-old Kenya Ball was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 19 in the Bald Creek Community while walking beside or on the edge of U.S. 19. Ball was transported to Mission Hospital in critical condition. She sustained a severe leg injury along with several minor injuries. State Highway Patrol troopers booked the detention officer into custody. An investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
