36-Year-Old Lafayama Chapman Killed In Rochester, NY Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on August 16 in Rochester, New York. 36-year-old Lafayama Chapman tragically was killed in a DWI crash at the intersection of Dewey Avenue and Driving Park. Chapman was walking in front of a store when he was hit by a gray Kia which then crashed into a nearby building. The pedestrian was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later passed away on Saturday morning. After the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the Kia driver, a 29-year-old woman from Rochester, was intoxicated at the time of the accident. She was charged with driving while intoxicated. The Honda driver initially fled the scene but was later located. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
