41-Year-Old Edward Smith Jr. Killed In North Brunswick, NJ AccidentTractor trailer wreck on Route 1 Posted: 3 years agoShare Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Email This Story Tragic accident that occurred on Monday, January 3rd in North Brunswick, New Jersey. 41-year-old Edward Smith Jr. was tragically killed after a tractor-trailer struck his tow truck at the intersection of Route 1 and Adams Lane. According to preliminary findings, Smith was driving his truck, and as he began turning left onto Route 1 northbound, he was hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer. The tow truck then traveled off the roadway, striking a car parked on an auto dealership lot. North Brunswick firefighters, EMS, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital paramedics, Middlesex County Haz-Mat, New Jersey Department of Transportation, George Logan Towing, and PSE&G assisted at the scene.
