44-Year-Old Johnatta Cook Killed In Henry, IA Accident

Wreck on Highway 218

Tragic accident that occurred on Thursday, August 19th in Henry, Iowa. 44-year-old Johnatta Vernessa Cook was tragically killed when the compact car that she was a passenger in crashed on Highway 218. The victim was traveling in a Kia Soul driven by Chester Lee Simmons that left the roadway, entered the median, and went airborne. The Kia then struck a bridge pillar and came to rest on its top on railroad tracks. Sadly, Cook died due to injuries sustained in the crash. The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the accident.
