45-Year-Old Matt Lewis Killed In Nuevo, CA Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on August 1st in Nuevo, California. 45-year-old Riverside Police Sgt. Matt Lewis was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash on Pico Avenue. The wreck occurred when a red GMC Sierra truck pulling a trailer failed to yield to the motorcycle, crossing in front of the rider. As a result, the motorcycle driven by Lewis collided with the side of the truck, resulting in fatal injuries. Sadly, Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigation into the collision is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim. 

A fundraising campaign has been created for Lewis, and all the funds will be deposited into the RPOA Assistance Fund and then transferred directly to the family.
