45-Year-Old Shelby Cox Killed In Athens, GA AccidentThe crash remains under investigationPosted: 8 months agoShare Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Email This StoryTragic accident that occurred on August 11 in Athens, Georgia. 45-year-old Shelby Cox sadly was killed in a hit-and-run crash while waiting at a bus stop along Atlanta Highway near the intersection of Old Epps Bridge Road. She was run over by a black Toyota Highlander driven by Jeffery Scott Tate, who fled the scene after the collision. The Athens pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Tate was later arrested and charged with murder, hit and run (resulting in serious injury/death), reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.
