46-Year-Old Benji Martinez Killed In Rochester, NY Accident

Police pursuit ends in wreck

Tragic accident that occurred on Friday, January 7th in Rochester, New York. 46-year-old Benji Martinez was tragically killed after being hit by a vehicle that was fleeing police. Police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Kendre Preston, who then fled while police pursued. Preston then collided with Martinez, injuring himself and killing Martinez. Police recovered a firearm as well as fentanyl and Suboxone from Preston’s vehicle. Preston was on parole for a 2017 charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
