49-Year-Old Melanie Burnett Injured In Volney, NY Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday, August 24 at around 9:05 PM in Volney, New York. 49-year-old Melanie Burnett was seriously injured when the motorcycle she was a passenger on was struck by a Ford Mustang driven by 57-year-old David Reynolds. The crash occurred on County Road 176 when he began to enter the southbound lanes to pass a vehicle in front of him, and struck the Harley Davidson head-on. Melanie, and the driver of the motorcycle, were both ejected, and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Melanie was transported to Upstate University Hospital for internal injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the New York State Police. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
