49-Year-Old Verna Harris Killed In Upshur, TX Accident

The crash remains under investigation

 Tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday, February 1st in Upshur, Texas. 49-year-old Verna Harris lost her life when her vehicle was struck from behind by a van along U.S. Highway 271. Harris was driving north when she slowed to turn left into a private drive and was struck from behind by a northbound 2005 Chevrolet Astro van that failed to control its speed. Harris was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The department continues to investigate the crash. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
