58-year-old Sergio Herrera Arrested in Perris , CA Accident

Tragic accident that occured on March 15 in Perris, CA. 58-year-old Sergio Armand Peralta Herrera was arrested for a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured. The victim, identified only as a Perris man, was struck around 9 p.m. while walking in the No. 1 lane on the southbound side of North Perris Boulevard. Medics transported him to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he was listed in critical condition.Authorities say Herrera, a Nuevo resident, was driving a 2020 Ford Edge compact SUV and fled the scene toward the Ramona Expressway without stopping. He was later booked into the Byrd Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
