6-Year-Old Mikey Almeida Injured In Bartow, FL Accident

Dirt bike strikes child returning from school

Tragic accident that occurred on February 4th in Bartow, Florida. 6-year-old Mikey Almeida is in critical condition after being struck by a dirt bike while returning home from school. Mikey has not yet woken up after the crash that broke several of his bones. The child also was diagnosed with extensive brain damage. It is unclear if any charges are pending against the adult on the dirt bike, who police did not publicly identify. According to a GoFundMe page set up to help with the child's extensive needs, Mikey had received an award from his teacher that day which he was excited to show off. We send our thoughts and prayers to the young boy and his family.
