61-Year-Old Perry Hammond Killed In Utica, NY Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on December 25th in Utica, New York. 61-year-old Perry Charlie Hammond was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Court Street and Lincoln Avenue.  A preliminary investigation suggests that a car driven by Jeffrey Jones struck Hammond, who was taken to a local hospital, where, sadly, he died. According to his obituary, Hammond, a member of the Utica City Church, worked for the ARC, a service center for those with developmental disabilities. Jones was arrested the next day and was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash. Police said the wreck remains under investigation.
