62-Year-Old Deborah Abata Injured In Calistoga, CA AccidentDUI crash on Highway 29Posted: 4 years agoShare Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Email This StoryTragic accident that occurred on Monday, March 15 at around 10 AM on Highway 29 in Calistoga, California. 62-year-old Deborah Abata was seriously injured when she was involved in a head on crash with a driver, suspected of driving under the influence. The California Highway Patrol reported that a Subaru driven by 30-year-old Philip Popick was traveling south, when he drifted over the centerline and into the path of an Infiniti. The driver of the infinity, a 64-year-old man, sadly died at the scene. Abata, a passenger, was taken to the hospital for treatment of major injuries. The driver of the Subaru was later arrested for suspected felony DUI.
