The crash took place around 3 a.m. on Interstate Route 8, east of College Avenue. Rivas, of El Cajon, was driving a Mini Cooper when she was struck by a BMW SUV reportedly traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
