66-Year-Old James Thompson Killed In Alexander, NC AccidentDUI wreck along North Carolina Highway 127Posted: 2 years agoShare Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Email This StoryTragic accident that occurred on May 22nd in Alexander, North Carolina. 66-year-old James Thompson lost his life after the vehicle he was driving was struck head-on by an allegedly impaired driver on North Carolina Highway 127. 27-year-old Cierra Leshay Jones was operating a 2012 Toyota Scion northbound when she traveled across the centerline and struck a southbound 2008 Toyota Prius head-on. Thompson was driving the Prius and was rushed to Frye Regional Medical Center where he sadly died. Authorities determined Jones was intoxicated and charged her with driving while impaired, reckless driving, driving left of center, and transporting an open container.
