According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a motorcycle operated by 68-year-old James Reiner was traveling westbound on a downhill section of U.S. Highway 129 when he failed to maintain control at a curve in the roadway. As a result, Reiner traveled over the dividing line and struck an eastbound motorcycle head-on. The driver of the second motorcycle sustained unspecified injuries in the crash.
