I had daily contact with her when I would see her go for her walks on Pearl st. I was so sad to hear that she was involved in this tragic accident that took her life. I’m still looking for her to be walking up the street. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Summer - Friend Posted 1068 day(s) ago Marta "Mensaje" Kupesock and I walked often; this horrible incident happened a few blocks from her home on Centinela. She had a great spirit and explored it deeply, meditating with folks in Ananda study on Santa Monica Blvd, even joining a gathering of seekers at Mount Shasta, California's biggest volcano and known as a vortex of healing energy. Marta was an accomplished translator: her services involved helping immigrants navigate the LA County court system. A brilliant person and translator of poems--she loved reciting aloud. She found simple pleasures thrilling: strolling in nature, selecting her healthy favorites at the Co-op, etc. Recently we saw "The Mitchells vs The Machines" at the Aero on Montana. Marta made a point of arriving to theaters early, so we could walk the neighborhood. Perhaps, as the cliche goes, she died doing what she loved? Her brother survives her and Marta's many friends will miss her always.
