70-Year-Old Lorenzo Guajardo Killed in San Benito, TX Accident

The crash remains under investigation

A tragic accident occurred on April 19 in San Benito, Texas, when 70-year-old Lorenzo Guajardo was rear-ended by a semi-truck on FM Road 1421 near Road 233. Guajardo was driving a Chevrolet Aveo and attempting a left turn when a Kenworth semi, driven by 39-year-old Luis Fernando Gonzalez Altamirano of Mexico, struck him from behind. Guajardo was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. Authorities say the truck driver was texting and has been charged with criminal negligent homicide.
