81-Year-Old Akiko Omi Killed In Manhattan, NY Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on October 21 in Manhattan, New York. 81-year-old Akiko Omi died after being hit by a truck while walking on East 59th Street near Second Avenue. Omi was walking with a cane when she was hit by the truck. The vehicle never stopped and was last seen heading over the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. Omi was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell in Manhattan, where she later passed away. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
