Allison Smith was killed in a crash triggered by a driver who reportedly blew through a red light and slammed into another vehicle at Dorchester Road and the Interstate 26 eastbound ramp. Smith was trying to turn left on a green light when a 2013 Ford Fusion traveling 95 mph failed to stop at the red light and collided with Smith’s vehicle. Police say the Ford driver was charged with two counts of reckless homicide. A passenger in the Ford was also killed in the accident. An investigation is underway by the North Charleston Police Department.
