Amanda Gallegos Killed In El Paso, TX Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on February 21 in El Paso, Texas. Amanda Gallegos lost her life when the vehicle she was a passenger in was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Lohman Avenue. The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed while racing another vehicle. When the truck reached the intersection of Espina Street, it ran a red light and collided with a Hyundai. The teenager fled from the scene on foot. A passenger in the Hyundai, 21-year-old Amanda Jean Murillo Gallegos, was transported to an area hospital where she later succumbed to injuries. The teen later turned himself in to the police. He was booked into the juvenile section of Dona Ana County Detention Center on suspicion of vehicular homicide, two counts of knowingly leaving the scene of a crash that caused great bodily harm or death, racing on streets, and for a red light violation.
