Angelita Contreras Arrested In Houston, TX Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on June 26 in Houston, Texas. Angelita Contreras was arrested in connection with a DUI-related crash that claimed the life of a 22-year-old passenger along U.S. Highway 90. A Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was headed south when a gray Chevrolet Equinox traveling at a high rate of speed collided with the pickup. The impact caused the pickup to hit a concrete barrier and then leave the roadway. A 22-year-old passenger in the pickup died at the scene. The 23-year-old male driver of the pickup was transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. The Chevrolet driver, 47-year-old Angelita was later arrested on suspicion of murder and intoxicated manslaughter. This incident was reportedly Contreras' third DWI infraction. HPD continues to investigate the collision. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
