Barbara Brewer was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident caused by a driver who was allegedly intoxicated. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred when a Chevy Tahoe driven by 18-year-old Abrielle Ciana Payne veered into the southwest lane of travel of Farm-to-Market 917, striking a Toyota Tacoma. The impact of being struck by the Tahoe caused the Tacoma to veer into the northeast lane and collide with Brewer’s Dodge Charger head-on. Brewer was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Payne was charged with three counts of intoxication assault and one of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
