Charlotte Buck was seriously injured when the SUV she was a passenger in was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 246. Stephen Waldman pulled his Honda Accord to the side of the road and then made a U-turn in front of a Honda CR-V. The Accord collided with the right rear of the CRV causing it to veer off the road and slam into a tree. The CR-V driver was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, where she later succumbed to injuries. A passenger in the CR-V, Charlotte Ann Buck suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The crash remains under investigation by CHP.
