Tragic accident that occurred on September 16 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Emily Elizabeth Hayes is wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Michael Bernard along Carolina Beach Rd. Dr. Hayes is wanted for felony hit-and-run, and they have issued a warrant for her arrest. Bernard was transported to Novant Health in critical condition. He later succumbed to injuries. Those with knowledge of Hayes' whereabouts are asked to call Wilmington police. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
