Jason Lopez was charged with DWI after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree and injured two passengers. Lopez was operating a Honda when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, entered a wooded area, and slammed into a tree. Two passengers in the Honda were badly hurt and transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. Authorities say Lopez displayed signs of impairment at the scene and then later at the hospital. He was charged with assault by auto resulting in serious bodily injury while driving intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container.
