Pedestrian struck on Route 5

Tragic accident that occurred on August 22 in Colonie, New York. John Dowdell Jr. claimed the life of an unidentified woman when the vehicle he was operating struck her on Route 5. The victim was critically injured and sadly declared deceased at the site of the crash. Authorities have yet to identify her as she was not carrying any identification at the time of the crash.  Dowdell remained at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement officials. Anyone with details about the incident or the identity of the victim is urged to contact police at 518-783-2744.  We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
