Preliminary info is that Richard Swerda was driving a Toyota east when he veered into the westbound lane of Highway 32, just west of Forest Ranch Road. The Toyota traveled directly into the path of Ford that had five people inside. To avoid being hit by the Toyota, the 21-year-old driver of the Ford turned left. At the same time, the Toyota drifted to the right and crashed head-on with the Ford. Swerda fled the scene after the collision; however, he was later arrested for felony hit-and-run, causing injury.
