Jose Lorenzo-Martinez Arrested In Austin, TX Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on March 24 in Austin, Texas. Jose Lorenzo-Martinez was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured two pedestrians on Coronado Hills Drive. Lorenzo-Martinez was exiting the parking lot and struck a motorized wheelchair. After tipping over the wheelchair, the suspect ran over both victims before fleeing. The child suffered a severe ankle injury and the adult suffered a back injury. Lorenzo-Martinez was located by a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper at a parking lot about a mile from the crash where he admitted to being involved in the crash. He was booked into the Travis County Jail on suspicion of an accident involving serious bodily injury. APD continues to investigate. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
