Police arrested 29-year-old Joseph Granados on suspicion of driving under the influence after an 88-year-old man checking his mail was struck and seriously injured. According to the California Highway Patrol, Granados was driving along eastbound Freedom Boulevard when his vehicle traveled off the side of the road striking the pedestrian as well as slamming into the mailboxes on Freedom's south shoulder. The unidentified victim was transported to the Dominican Hospital and then flown to Valley medical Center.
