Liam Shield was seriously injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run motorist while riding a bicycle along Arch Road near Security Drive. Liam was badly hurt and transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment. The driver involved fled the scene but a suspect was later identified and arrested. He was charged with first-degree endangerment, evading responsibility causing serious physical injury, operating a vehicle without a license, and two counts of risk of injury to a child.
