Maria Schwab Killed In Chicago, IL Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on December 7 in Chicago, Illinois. Maria Schwab was fatally injured when an off-duty police officer leaving a holiday party, traveled onto the sidewalk along State Street and struck Maria Schwab. Upon impact, Schwab was thrown into a fence and critically injured. She was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries. The driver, who was allegedly distracted by her cell phone, has been issued citations for negligent driving, driving while using a cell phone, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and failure to keep in lanes. The incident remains under investigation. We send our thoughts and prayers to the  family of the victim.
