Mario Romero was seriously injured when the vehicle he was a passenger in ran a red light at the intersection of Granny Road and N. Ocean Ave. 39-year-old Victor Lopez was operating a Mini Cooper when he ran a red light and struck a Lexus driven by 62-year-old Graca Fernandez. The mini then struck a Ford Fusion. Mr. Romero, a passenger in the mini, was rushed to Stony Brook University hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Victor was charged with driving while intoxicated.
