Matthew Dewayne Lunsford Killed In Burke, NC Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on August 29 in Burke, North Carolina. Matthew Dewayne Lunsford lost his life along Interstate 40 near Carolina Street SE while attempting to merge from the right lane to the left lane. That is when he collided with a GMC Yukon in the left lane. As a result, Lunsford was ejected from the motorcycle and subsequently hit by the Yukon. Tragically, Lunsford died due to injuries sustained in the crash. Troopers said an investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
