Matthew Gaudreau Killed In Oldmans Township, NJ Accident

Bicycle accident on County Route 551

Tragic accident that occurred on August 29 in Oldmans Township, New Jersey. Matthew Gaudreau and his brother were tragically struck and killed by a drunk driver while riding bicycles on County Route 551. 43-year-old Sean Higgins tried to pass two vehicles ahead of him and entered the southbound lanes. An SUV in front of Higgins moved to the middle of the roadway, splitting the north and south lanes to safely pass the Gaudreau brothers as they rode their bikes on the right side of the road. Higgins then tried to pass the SUV and struck the Gaudreau brothers, killing them both. Higgins was arrested and charged with two counts of death by auto. The deadly crash occurred the night before both Gaudreau brothers were set to attend their sister's wedding as groomsmen. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
