The crash involved 15 cars on Interstate 65 in Butler County and appeared to be related to a tropical storm. The children ranged in ages from 4 to 17 and were traveling in a vehicle from Tallapoosa County Girls Ranch. Bystanders attempted to pull the children from the vehicle that was engulfed in flames. A 29-year-old father and his nine month old daughter who were in another vehicle were also killed in the crash. A go fund me page has been created to help the families of the victims.
