Tragic accident that occurred on January 25 in Southmont, North Carolina. Roger Hollingsworth was hospitalized after a head-on accident along North Carolina Highway 8. Hollingsworth was operating a Dodge pickup truck when a Chrysler hydroplaned, traveled into oncoming traffic, and collided head-on with the Dodge. Hollingsworth was injured in the crash and transported to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities noted the poor condition of the tires on the Chrysler as a factor.
