Sierra Cummins was seriously injured when the vehicle she was a passenger in was involved in an accident due to reckless driving. She was traveling in a Ford mustang driven by 38-year-old Brian Williams when he lost control at a high rate of speed on Alton Road. The mustang crashed into a Porsche, and then struck two trees off the roadway. Mr. Williams told authorities he was going between 70 to 75 mph in a 30 mph zone. Williams, who has had a suspended license since 2013, has been charged with vehicular homicide, two counts of driving with a suspended license leading to injury, and three counts of reckless driving in connection with the crash. Ms. Cummings was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
