Six-year-old Darien Lewis was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle while walking across Leawood Boulevard. The young boy was hit by a truck driven by Pedro Alberto Hernandez, who admitted to drinking four beers before the fateful incident. Hernandez was still on probation for a DWI conviction out of Fort Bend County two years ago. Due to his probation conditions, Hernandez cannot drink and had to install and maintain an ignition interlock device. Hernandez has been charged with murder and DWI, third offense or more.
