17-Year-Old Kaitlyn Byrum Injured In San Augustine, TX Accident

The accident remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday, March 23 at about 5:45 p.m. in San Augustine, Texas. 17-year-old Kaitlyn Byrum, was seriously injured when the car that she was a passenger in struck an SUV head-on on northbound Farm-to-Market 1277. The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old girl, failed to yield right of way at a stop sign and drove into the path of a GMC SUV driven by 37-year-old Joe Worry. Byrum was taken via helicopter to a Tyler hospital.  The Texas Department of Public Safety  is investigating the accident. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
