18-Year-Old Iliana Velez Killed In San Marcos, TX Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Monday, January 3rd in San Marcos, Texas. 18-year-old Iliana Velez was tragically killed in a wreck on the northbound side of Interstate 35 near Wonder World Drive, when a truck collided with a silver Mazda near the ramp that meets the main lanes, causing the Mazda to flip. San Marcos police say the search is on to locate the driver of a white box truck.SMPD has yet to find the suspect who fled the scene in the truck. The crash remains an active investigation, and anyone with additional information about the incident should contact Sergeant Myers with SMPD at smyers@sanmarcostx.gov.
