22-Year-Old Deepthi Vangavolu Killed in Denton, TX Acciden

A tragic accident occurred on April 12 in Denton when 22-year-old Deepthi Vangavolu was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash. Around 2:12 a.m., a dark-colored sedan hit two female pedestrians in the 2300 block of Carril Al Lago Drive before fleeing the scene. Both victims were taken to the hospital, where Vangavolu later died. The second woman has since been released and is recovering at home. The suspect, driving a 2015 Kia Optima, was arrested and booked into the City of Denton Jail.  We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
